The smallest room in the house is the one to be brave in. Here it is papered floor-to-rail in a hand-drawn Nantucket and Cape Cod toile — the Old Mill, Brant Point Light, the steamship, sperm whales — over white shiplap wainscot, with a carved white vanity and a hammered copper sink, a rope mirror ringed in navy, and a distressed copper cage lantern hanging low. Blue-and-white striped towels rolled on the shelf below, hydrangeas in a ginger jar, a jute rug underfoot. Every piece is here.
