The Shingled Front Porch

The curved, columned porch of a cedar-shingled Nantucket house at high summer — a white wicker rocker on one side, a three-seat wicker swing on chains at the other, every cushion deep navy. A lobster coir doormat runs across bluestone steps, a pink-and-purple hydrangea basket wreath hangs on the glossy navy door, and a rosy check pedestal urn spills blue hydrangeas by the sidelight.
